KARD - “Back To Life”

Wrapping up their ninth and final year together, co-ed group KARD releases a celebratory farewell with its first full-length album, Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE, and its lead single, “Back To Life.” Compared to quartet’s more recent projects, that have continued to both build upon or stray away from KARD’s early sound, the group brings this last album full circle, revisiting their bright, tropical style that fans first fell in love with, but refined. While all of KARD’s releases feel like passion projects, it’s clear “Back To Life” was made with care and delivers all the dancehall and moombahton aspects that fans had been missing. With a heartfelt message that reaffirms the members and Hidden KARD (the group’s fandom) will never be alone, this track feels like the World Cup-worthy tribute KARD deserves.

ONEWE - “We Are Missing (Neverland)”

After releasing their single “ICARUS” in May — the title track for the first installment of their Point·Line·Plane series — Korean rock band ONEWE is back with their second installment, 線 :The Wake and its lead single, “We Are Missing (Neverland).” While “ICARUS” drew inspiration from Greek Mythology, “Neverland” is based on the fictional world of Peter Pan, with multiple name-drops of various locations such as Skull Rock and Mermaid Lagoon. Similar to how the magical island is considered an escape from reality for children, ONEWE echoes the sentiment, encouraging listeners to take a break from the real world and allow themselves to be sucked into a world where anything is possible. With a grunge-tinged electric guitar combined with a steady rhythm and entrancing vocals, the five-piece band creates a very different type of fairytale atmosphere — one that’s loud, cathartic, and full of energy.

POW - “Flavor”

After six months of waiting, boy group POW is back with its latest single album (and first summer release), Flavor, with the title track of the same name. However, this isn’t just any comeback — it’s an entire concept and rollout akin to a cosmetic launch or beauty drop. Instead of the usual K-pop concept photos, each member was revealed as different flavors, posing with various cosmetic props. With the album entirely produced and led by Thai member Yorch, everything from the song to the album rollout and music video are dripping in pastel colors and gooey summer goodness. With refreshing pop sound, funky guitar riffs, and ‘90s-esque record scratches, “Flavor” reflects all the different sounds, scents, and colors associated with summer, with a memorable concept rollout to match.

NouerA - “.exe”

Just four months after their last their third mini album, POP IT LIKE, seven-member boy group NouerA is back with its fourth EP, .exe. With the lead single of the same name, “.exe” is a new change of pace for the group’s that been known for their intense energy and bold performances, instead opting for a youthful, more romantic concept for the first time. The song title derives from the file extension for executable computer programs, using the technological term to convey a love so pure and passionate, the group is willing to leap across dimensional boundaries to confess their feelings. Sonically, “.exe” is also a new venture for NouerA as it experiments with sharp hyper-synths, a heavy bass line, and irregular beats that gives the track a computerized “glitch” effect. With an equally trippy and old-school Internet styled video, this might just be NouerA’s most unique project yet.

P1Harmony - “VELVET”

Following the release of their ninth EP, UNIQUE, in March, boy group P1Harmony has returned with something of a victory lap. With their second Japanese release since 2024, the six-member group dropped their UNIQUE Japan Edition album, featuring all songs from the Korean UNIQUE album, plus two new Japanese exclusive tracks. One of the two includes “VELVET,” a smooth dance and synth-pop track that delivers a groovy, late-night dance atmosphere and blends English, Korean, and Japanese lyrics. The sparkling synths in the background paired with the sleek bassline oozes feel-good retro vibes that feel most tailored to P1Harmony member Jiung, whose personal tastes often lead funky, nostalgic tracks. Coincidentally, fans seem to agree, with many praising Jiung’s deeply emotive and yearning vocal delivery. Overall, P1Harmony has many strengths and top-tier tracks, but “VELVET” is already one of their strongest.
