LOONA (이달의 소녀, "Girl of the Month") is a girl group formed by Blockberry Creative with one of the most ambitious pre-debut projects in K-pop history. From 2016 to 2018, each of the twelve members was individually introduced with her own solo single, music video, and lore before the full group debuted in August 2018. This elaborate rollout created an intricate "LOONAVERSE" mythology that captivated fans who dissected every visual clue and narrative connection. LOONA's music spans a remarkable range of styles — from Chuu's bubbly "Heart Attack" to the cinematic grandeur of "Butterfly" to the girl-crush energy of "PTT (Paint the Town)." The group gained a uniquely devoted international fandom, Orbits, who turned LOONA into an internet phenomenon long before the group achieved mainstream domestic success. Despite significant company controversies and member departures, LOONA's creative ambition and the quality of their discography have ensured their place in K-pop history as one of the most artistically inventive groups of their generation.

KEYVITUP is a five-member boy group under iNKODE, formed through the agency’s INTHE X Project. The lineup—Sena, Hyunmin, Taehwan, Rukia, and Jaein—was introduced step by step through pre-debut content, building anticipation around a team designed with a strong performance focus and a clear concept from the start. This concept highlights a more energetic and performance-driven style, setting the tone for their music and overall image even before debut. They are set to make their debut with the self-titled EP KEYVITUP, marking the official beginning of their activities. With pre-debut exposure, international stage appearances, and a defined concept, the group enters the scene with momentum and a clear direction moving forward.

KickFlip is a seven-member boy group under JYP Entertainment, consisting of Kyehoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, Keiju, and Donghyeon. The group was formed through the SBS audition program Loud and debuted in 2025. The group's identity connects JYP's idol training system with a more youthful, agile performance image. Because several members were already known from a survival-show context, KickFlip's debut carried built-in curiosity around how the lineup would translate from trainee competition to a working group. The fandom is known as WeFlip. KickFlip is still early in its career, with its public identity centered on formation, lineup, and debut positioning rather than a long-established legacy.

XLOV is a South Korean boy group formed by 257 Entertainment and currently managed by [WM Entertainment]. The group consists of four members: Wumuti, Rui, Hyun, and Haru. They debuted on January 7, 2025, with the single album I'mma Be. XLOV gained attention for promoting a genderless concept, incorporating androgynous styling and performances that challenge traditional gender norms in Kpop. The group's name combines "X," representing the unknown and negation, with "LOV," symbolizing incomplete love, while their fandom name, EVOL, represents the completion of that concept. Several members were previously known through survival programs before debut. Wumuti, Rui, and Haru participated in Boys Planet, while Wumuti was also active in the project group WATERFIRE before helping form XLOV. The group is particularly noted for Wumuti's involvement in songwriting and production, including contributions to their debut release. Since debuting, XLOV has released music including I'mma Be and I ONE, earning recognition for their distinctive concept, performance style, and growing international fanbase. In 2026, the group's management structure changed following the acquisition of 257 Entertainment by WM Entertainment through RBW. Their music primarily incorporates elements of hip-hop, R&B, and pop, while their visual identity and performances have distinguished them as one of the more unconventional rookie acts of the fifth generation of Kpop.

aespa is a four-member girl group debuted by SM Entertainment in November 2020, consisting of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. The group introduced a concept centered on virtual "ae" counterparts, blending real and digital worlds into an elaborate sci-fi universe often associated with KWANGYA. That metaverse-inspired setup positioned aespa at the intersection of idol pop, technology branding, and SM's long-running taste for high-concept worldbuilding. Musically, aespa made a sharp first impression with an aggressive, synth-heavy style that matched the digital concept without depending on it completely. "Black Mamba", "Next Level" and "Savage" used sudden beat changes, metallic textures, and big vocal climaxes to create a sound that felt more angular than most mainstream girl-group pop. The approach could be polarizing, but it made aespa instantly identifiable. The group's later singles showed how flexible that identity could become. "Drama" pushed the cinematic side of aespa, while Supernova turned their electronic edge into something brighter, stranger, and more playful. Karina and Winter often serve as the visual and performance center of the group, Giselle gives the rap sections a casual sharpness, and Ningning brings a vocal power that lets aespa's biggest choruses land with real force. aespa’s fandom is known as MY, and the group became one of the key fourth-generation acts by making high-concept idol pop feel commercially central rather than niche. Their importance is tied to that blend: they are an SM vocal group, a performance group, a fashion-forward girl group, and a sci-fi pop project at the same time. Even when the lore becomes less prominent, the idea remains clear: aespa turns futurism into a pop language.

EVNNE is a 5-member boy group under Jellyfish Entertainment. They debuted on September 19th 2023 with the mini-album “Target: Me”. The group name is an acronym for "EVENing's Newest Etoiles". The group originally consisted of seven trainees who were previously contestants on the survival show Boys Planet. The members were Park Han Bin, Lee Jeong Hyeon, Mun Jung Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo from WAKEONE; Yoo Seung Eon and Ji Yun Seo from YH Entertainment; and Keita from Rain Company. The group formerly went with the name "BLIT" an acronym for "Boldly Leaping Into Tomorrow" but was changed after fans raised concerns of misinterpretation. On December 8 2025, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that Yoo Seung Eon and Ji Yun Seo would end their activities with EVNNE after finishing the [OUR EVNNEing] fanmeeting in January 2026 and would thereafter return to YH Entertainment.

MONSTA X is a boy group formed through the survival show No.Mercy who debuted under Starship Entertainment in May 2015. Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M make up the current lineup, with Wonho a former member, and the group has always been tied to a forceful performance image. Their sound runs muscular — EDM drops, hip-hop percussion, dark synths, and choruses built to carry heavy choreography. They became one of the most physically commanding performance groups of their generation across a run stretching from the breakthrough drive of "Dramarama" to the sharper drama of "Love Killa," while their vocal line and later English-language releases revealed a smoother R&B and pop register that softened the edges without draining the intensity. They also mattered as a bridge between Korean idol promotion and Western touring: English-language singles, American media appearances, and a large international audience, all without blurring the group's identity. Their fandom, Monbebe, is known for staying loyal through lineup changes, enlistments, solo projects, and long stretches between full-group activity. Their legacy rests on consistency and stamina rather than reinvention. MONSTA X refined one recognizable image — power, charisma, and emotional loyalty — instead of rebuilding it every comeback. That became a template for later boy groups aiming to look tough onstage while cultivating a close, fan-centered identity off it.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER, usually shortened to TXT, is a five-member boy group under BIGHIT MUSIC — Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai. They debuted in March 2019 with The Dream Chapter: Star, arriving as BigHit’s first boy group after BTS and drawing immediate attention. Their early identity centered on youth, friendship, imagination, and the odd emotional weather of growing up. Rather than opening with a hard-edged performance image, they leaned into brightness, fantasy, and vulnerability on “Crown,” “Run Away,” and “Blue Hour” — a stance that set them apart within fourth-generation boy-group trends, largely because their storytelling treated adolescence as magical, confusing, and faintly unstable. As the catalog grew, they folded in sharper pop-rock, emo, and dance influences through “0X1=LOVESONG,” “LO$ER=LOVER,” “Sugar Rush Ride,” and “Chasing That Feeling.” The members’ strengths track that evolution closely: Soobin’s steady leadership, Yeonjun’s performance charisma, Beomgyu’s color, Taehyun’s vocal precision, and Huening Kai’s bright tone let the group move between softness and intensity. Their fandom is MOA, short for Moments of Alwaysness. What makes TXT significant is how deliberately they built a coming-of-age identity across albums, videos, and stages. Instead of defining themselves by a single sound, they became a group about transition itself — childhood into adulthood, fantasy into reality, polished idol pop into something more emotionally restless.

YEONJUN’s solo debut arrives with an unusual clarity. Not the kind delivered through grand statements or heavy-handed concept explanation, but the kind that forms when someone stops negotiating with the idea of identity entirely

RIIZE is a six-member boy group debuted by SM Entertainment in September 2023, marking the label's first new boy group in seven years. The group — Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan (who later left in 2024) Sohee, and Anton — launched with the single "Get A Guitar," a warm, acoustic-influenced track that departed from SM's typical electronic sound. Their name combines "Rise" and "Realize," symbolizing growth and the realization of dreams. RIIZE's debut was met with enormous anticipation and commercial success, with pre-debut buzz generating massive social media engagement. The group has embraced a more accessible, "emotional pop" sound compared to SM's other acts, appealing to a broad audience. Their fandom, BRIIZE, grew rapidly from pre-debut activities alone. Though a young group, RIIZE has already demonstrated strong momentum with chart-topping releases, and they represent SM Entertainment's vision for the next chapter of their storied legacy of boy groups.

Wonder Girls were a girl group formed by JYP Entertainment, debuting in February 2007. The group — whose most well-known lineup included Sunye, Yeeun, Sohee, Yubin, and Hyerim — became one of the defining acts of second-generation K-pop. Their 2007 single "Tell Me" sparked a national dance craze in South Korea, with the retro choreography being replicated everywhere from schools to military barracks. Follow-up hits "So Hot" and "Nobody" were equally massive. Wonder Girls made history as the first K-pop group to enter the Billboard Hot 100, with "Nobody" charting in 2009 during their ambitious attempt to break into the American market. While their U.S. promotions had mixed results, the group's pioneering efforts helped pave the way for future K-pop acts in the West. In their later years, Wonder Girls reinvented themselves as a self-playing band, releasing the critically acclaimed album "Reboot." The group disbanded in 2017, but their legacy as trailblazers in K-pop's global expansion is firmly established.
