P NATION confirmed on 1 July that HEIZE's exclusive contract with the label ended on 30 June, following discussions between both parties. She enters free agency for the first time since signing with the Psy-founded agency in August 2020. No announcement has been made about her next move.
The split is described as mutual. Six years is a meaningful run – HEIZE arrived at P NATION already established, having built her reputation across a string of All-Kill singles and critically noted releases through the mid-to-late 2010s. Tracks like "Star," "Don't Know You," and "You, Clouds, Rain" had already cemented her as one of the more consistent voices in the indie-adjacent lane of Korean pop before she joined the label.
The P NATION era had its moments. Her first release under the label, the EP Happen in 2021, earned a Digital Song Bonsang at the Golden Disc Awards for its title track. Her second studio album Undo followed in June 2022, with EPs Last Winter (2023) and Fallin' (2024) continuing the pattern – seasonal, emotionally precise records that her audience expects and receives well. She also contributed to a steady stream of OST work across the same period, a reliable indicator of how embedded she is in the broader Korean entertainment ecosystem rather than just the chart-driven pop circuit. Most recently, her tenth mini-album Love Virus Pt.1 arrived in November 2025.
What comes next is the more interesting question. HEIZE sits at a specific intersection – singer-songwriter credibility, melodic instincts rooted in R&B, a tone that doesn't fit neatly into the idol pipeline – and that kind of artist tends to fare better with a label that genuinely understands the lane rather than one treating them as a prestige signing. Free agency at this career stage can open doors. It can also stall momentum if the next decision takes too long.
For now, the most immediate move is tomorrow. HEIZE is featured on CHUU's upcoming digital single "RULE," due 2 July. The track is described as an indie pop collaboration pairing CHUU's vocals with HEIZE's tone across a rhythmic beat and string arrangement. Thematically it centres on self-determination – living by your own terms, resisting external pressure. CHUU has been building her solo presence throughout 2026 following the January release of her debut full album 'XO, My Cyberlove.'
The collaboration lands at a fitting moment, where HEIZE's first confirmed credit as a free agent is a feature on a track about independence. Whether that's poetic or coincidental probably depends on how the next few months go.
