BTS' frontman,Kim Nam Joon, better known as RM, celebrates his 30th birthday today! The talented and versatile artist wears many hats, but one of his most remarkable traits is his exceptional leadership, both within the group and among BTS' devoted global fanbase, ARMYs, who regard RM as an outstanding role model.

 

In September 2018, BTS made history as the first K-pop group to speak at the United Nations in partnership with UNICEF, aiming to inspire youth worldwide to speak their truth, express their feelings, and empower those around them. The speech, entirely written and delivered by RM, saw his fellow members standing in support and solidarity.

During the address, RM became visibly emotional, sharing, "Soon, I began to shut out my own voice and listen to the voice of others. No one called out my name, and neither did I." He emphasized the importance of discovering his individuality through music, which, as he described, became his sanctuary.
