Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Reminiscence” by Shin Hae Gyeong

To build dreamy tension in an understated, captivating way is very difficult to do. Especially when that dreamy, captivating build takes up half of your song’s runtime. This track from K-indie artist Shin Hae Gyeong, clocks in at just under 2 minutes, but it enthralled us from the opening cricket chirps.
The entire song feels like an American chamber pop number from the 1960s but run through modern textures. E-pianos, falsetto oohs, and shimmering synths abound. We couldn’t think of a better title for this track. This is certainly a song to reminisce to.
