Zara Larsson Credited as a Composer on IVE’s “Glow Motion”

On October 5, 2026, IVE unveiled the tracklist for their upcoming mini album Looks Can Kill, with popular singer-songwriter Zara Larsson making an appearance in its credits.

The comic book-inspired pink and yellow tracklist poster lists six songs: title track “Looks Can Kill,” “Mirror Mirror,” “SNAKESKIN,” “CRUMBS,” “Girls Girls Girls” and “Glow Motion.” Beneath each are the typical lists of songwriters, composers and arrangers, with a variety of names included across the album. One in particular has caught fans’ attention; Zara Larsson is mentioned as a composer of the B-side “Glow Motion.”

Zara Larsson is a Swedish singer-songwriter who has made a major resurgence over the past year. Initially being recognised for songs like “Lush Life” and “Can’t Tame Her” and for her feature on Clean Bandit’s “Symphony” in the 2010s, the 2025 release of her fifth studio album Midnight Sun has seen a full reinvention that relies on bright colours, a 2000s inspired style, and a hyper-pop sound. “Midnight Sun” earned the artist her highest charting position on the Billboard 200 so far in her career and a Grammy nomination, and her feature on “Stateside” by PinkPantheress also took the industry by storm.

Throughout her career, Larsson’s name has appeared in connection with prominent K-pop releases. In 2019, she featured on “A Brand New Day” by J-Hope and V of BTS. In 2020, she was listed as a composer of TWICE’s “More & More,” which originated from her own unreleased demo and was reinterpreted by JYP Entertainment. Now, as a key figure in the public eye once more, she has reignited that connection to K-pop.

The announcement of her involvement in the creation of IVE’s “Glow Motion” comes while Larsson is in Seoul, visiting for the first time in nine years for two concerts as part of her ‘Midnight Sun’ Tour. She performed at the Myunghwa Live Hall on October 4 and October 5, 2026, each sold-out with around two thousand attendees. The sell-out indicates her popularity in Korea and the significance of her name being listed in association with one of the country's biggest girl groups, IVE.

While no K-pop artists are reported to have attended the shows, Zara Larsson shared a photo of herself holding flowers backstage and tagged IVE in recognition of their gift. The timing of the tracklist announcement is likely intentional, that link between the artists strengthened by her Seoul concerts.

It is rumoured that the song, like TWICE’s “More & More,” was one of Larsson’s own demos that has since been taken on by Starship Entertainment. That possibility – or, at minimum, any contribution from Larsson – suggests that the song may lean towards her 2010s-inspired hyper-pop signature. If it does, “Glow Motion” will see IVE reaching further into the current early-2000s trend making headway both in sound and concept within the K-pop genre, expanding on their “kitsch teen” aesthetic.

Larsson’s involvement also reflects the growing influence of Western music on K-pop, with songs frequently being adopted from Western artists and songwriters as the niche finds a place amongst the global mainstream.

IVE’s fifth mini album Looks Can Kill will be released on October 26, featuring “Glow Motion.”
