TWICE’s NAYEON Collaborates with Brazilian DJ Alok on “Bye Bye Inhibitions”

NAYEON of TWICE has released a new single with Brazilian DJ Alok, titled “Bye Bye Inhibitions.”

The collaboration was released at midnight on October 2, 2026 on global and domestic music platforms. With a catchy melody and festival-style production, it falls into the dance-pop genre, combining Alok’s signature dance sound with NAYEON’s recognisable vocals. As the title suggests, lyrics encourage the listener to let go of all feelings of fear and embarrassment and instead to enjoy the present moment.

Alok is a Brazilian DJ and record producer who first became internationally popular with the 2016 single “Hear Me Now,” featuring artists Bruno Martini and Zeeba. The song became the first single by a Brazilian artist to reach 100 million streams on Spotify, making Alok a leading Brazilian artist. Since then, he has performed his electronic dance and house music at various events, including the notorious festivals Tomorrowland, Coachella, and Rock in Rio – the latter of which saw the reveal of “Bye Bye Inhibitions” last month.

On September 11, Alok previewed the song during the first of two performances at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. NAYEON’s voice was recognised by fans and clips were shared on social media prior to the official announcement later in the month.

The artist has also teased a second performance of the song with NAYEON present; with his set at EDC Korea coming up on October 4, it's possible that he is alluding to an in-person collaboration there.

A collaboration between a Brazilian DJ and NAYEON of TWICE, one of the most well-known idols and a member of one of the biggest girl groups in the industry, sends a powerful message regarding the increase in attention paid to Latin America by K-pop companies. With more tours, more features, and more Brazilian funk-inspired instrumentals, “Bye Bye Inhibitions” is the next in a series of recent crossovers into the country and wider continent. Only several days ago, on September 29, ENHYPEN collaborated with HYBE Latin America’s SANTOS BRAVOS – the frequency of similar announcements is increasing.

At the same time, interest in K-pop in Latin America is increasing. Alongside sets from local artists like Alok, Rock in Rio Brazil saw a headlining performance from Stray Kids and supporting performances from NEXZ and HWASA, all on the same sold-out stage. This sequence of performers was likely prepared with Alok’s unveiling of his K-pop collaboration in mind, but the overall presence of multiple K-pop artists – one of which as a headliner – indicates that there is a significant audience for the genre in Brazil. Festivals, beyond individual tour dates, are becoming particularly important indicators of appeal; they place K-pop in front of mainstream audiences who may not be there for the selected artists, proving that K-pop can find a place amongst other genres, and see new fans as a result. As more global campaigns roll out, expect to see Latin America becoming the site of more events and further content.

Additionally, this project is the first from NAYEON since the conclusion of TWICE’s <THIS IS FOR> World Tour and discussions over contract renewals, which have seen several members seek new contracts and ventures outside of the group. While NAYEON has not yet shared any news surrounding contracts, the collaboration suggests that she may continue pursuing music as a solo artist.

Alok and NAYEON’s “Bye Bye Inhibitions” is available to stream and download on music platforms now.
