All Three KATSEYE Albums Hold Billboard 200 Spots For Fifth Week

By Hasan Beyaz

KATSEYE have kept all three of their EPs on the Billboard 200 for a fifth consecutive week, over a month on from their latest release.

New Billboard 200 chart data, dated for September 26, places KATSEYE’s third EP WILD at number 22. Led by “Hootie Frutti” and the pre-release singles “PINKY UP” and “Animal,” the EP was released on August 14, making it the girl group’s most recent release. For that reason, it sits highest on the chart in comparison to their other two entries. “Animal” also sits at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, having spent eight weeks on the chart, while “Hootie Frutti” sits at number 91.

Second on the list at number 160 is KATSEYE’s second EP Beautiful Chaos, released in June 2025. The EP marked KATSEYE’s first official comeback following their debut and the widespread success of “Gnarly” and “Gabriela,” which established the bright, edgy imagery as well as the mature looks taken on by the group since. It has spent a total of 64 weeks on the Billboard 200.

The group’s final entry, their 2024 debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong), sits at number 191 with a total of 28 weeks spent on the chart. Despite the later shift in KATSEYE image – framed as an intention to better represent their global influences and presence – the EP remains popular due to the softer viral songs “Debut” and “Touch.”

September 26 marks the fifth consecutive week in which all three of KATSEYE’s EPs, despite their varying release dates and styles, have held positions on the Billboard 200. Each release peaked during their initial promotions – WILD at number 1, Beautiful Chaos at number 4, and SIS (Soft Is Strong) at number 98 – but the longevity of all three combined is especially impressive and unprecedented for an artist born from the K-pop industry. BTS is the only K-pop artist to have held three albums on the chart simultaneously, and only for a brief crossover.

While KATSEYE cannot strictly be deemed K-pop due to their lack of Korean lyrics, their origins as a global girl group were built from the foundations of K-pop; their strategies take inspiration from survival shows, training systems, and release formats, and the group is run in conjunction with one of the leading K-pop agencies, HYBE, alongside Geffen Records. KATSEYE were formed through The Debut: Dream Academy in 2024, a show explicitly intended to make use of K-pop traditions. Their three EPs all have their own physical albums containing photobooks and photocards, as is expected of K-pop groups but separates them from Western artists. This means that their prominence does reflect back on the effectiveness and growing popularity of the K-pop industry overall.

Notably, the three EPs are now charting over a month after KATSEYE’s latest release. There is no longer a new release driving these chart positions. Instead, the group are proving that they have a sustained popularity despite it being only two years since their debut. As a global group with such a unique origin, KATSEYE was presented as an experiment. This continued reception proves it successful; the group have moved beyond temporary virality as a result of initial curiosity to maintaining a permanent international fanbase.

Part of this hold may also be the result of KATSEYE’s first world tour, ‘KATSEYE: THE WILDWORLD TOUR’, which has seen the members performing across Europe throughout early September and will see performances across the U.S. in October and November. The Billboard 200 chart records data exclusively from the United States, and fans of KATSEYE in the country are likely to be preparing for their visit and boosting these figures in the process.

While the positions of each EP on the Billboard 200 are dropping week-on-week, a five week streak encompassing their entire discography makes a clear statement about the popularity and potential of KATSEYE.

More information regarding their U.S. tour can be found on their official social media platforms, but tickets have now completely sold out.
