To celebrate WHIB’s comeback with CHERRY PIE, we caught up with each member individually.
For JAEHA, growth has meant becoming more comfortable moving between different sides of his artistry. Taking on both singing and rapping has changed the way he prepares, from focusing on pitch as a vocalist to thinking more carefully about performance when approaching rap. He credits the older members with helping him stay balanced while learning those new skills, highlighting the sense of support that runs through WHIB. But perhaps the most unexpected part of his journey has been discovering just how much affection can come from being an artist
The realisation that his music and performances can mean something to so many people has given JAEHA a different perspective on the career he is building — one rooted not only in what he can do, but in the connection those skills can create.
You’ve taken on both singing and rapping more actively. How did that change your preparation?
JAEHA When I was singing, I focused a lot on staying on pitch, and when I was rapping, I practiced while also thinking about how I would perform it on stage.
How do you stay mentally balanced while learning new skills?
I think the biggest help came from the older members.
What part of being an artist has surprised you most?
I think what surprised me most was realizing that I could receive so much love from so many people.
