RESCENE, Tiffany Young, xikers & MORE
Read on for our picks of the week.

This week’s K-pop releases feature a lot of popular UK garage subgenres, a healthy dose of R&B and pop, and a dash of everything else in between. While RESCENE, Baby DONT CRY, and TWS bring the drum-and-bass and two-step garage flair, Tiffany Young and i-dle’s Miyeon deliver a flirtatious yet wholesome vibe for their pop/R&B collaboration. Meanwhile, xikers is definitely the most exuberant of the bunch, combining a hodgepodge of styles that seamlessly blend together for an epic party anthem.
RESCENE - “With”
No one quite earns the title of K-pop’s underdogs of 2026 like girl group RESCENE. After going viral for the “Geoje yaho” meme – stemming from group members Woni and Minami – the quintet’s music has seen a resurgence in popularity, starting with their 2024 single, “LOVE ATTACK.” Now, three months after their special single, “Pretty Girl,” RESCENE is back with their fourth EP, PULSE. Its title track, “With,” is a soft pop song with drum-and-bass percussion and a nostalgic melody, perfect for easy listening and daydreaming. Lyrically, the song is about running towards a person they’ve dreamed of meeting and promising to stay by their side. In a sense, “With” could also be a metaphor for RESCENE’s newfound fame, with the group promising to give back just as much love as their fans have given to them this year. Although they’ve been humble about it, the spike in success is more than well-earned.
Tiffany Young - “Lips Together (feat. MIYEON)”
If you haven’t been keeping up with Korean soloist (and Girls’ Generation member) Tiffany Young, the second-gen icon has been busy. In August, she released her first full-length album, Edge of Calm, with the double title tracks, “Edge of Calm” and “Lips Together,” featuring i-dle member Miyeon. This week, Tiffany released a surprise music video for the latter, with “Lips Together” being a playful pop song with R&B/soul elements. While the track explores the desire to heal a wounded heart through love and kisses, the lyrics also include a few double entendres and innuendos that make it clear that it’s not just a metaphor. “Kiss me better / Let’s put our lips together / And it may take all night, but you know it’s gon’ be worth the effort,” Tiffany and Miyeon sing in the hook. With its slinky groove and the singers’ mischievous tones, “Lips Together” is two sides of the same coin – sincere and innocent on one side, suggestive and flirtatious on the other. Whichever one that listeners associate with the song is honestly a toss-up, but valid nonetheless.
xikers - “DUMB”
Five months after their previous release, ROUTE ZERO: The ORA, 10-member boy group xikers is back with their 8th mini album, ROUTE ZERO: The CALLING. While its title track, “DIENAMITE,’ is the center of attention of this promotional cycle, many fans have already dubbed the B-side, “DUMB,” as the best song on the album. Sonically, the track is xikers to the core – a chaotic pop-rap, trap, EDM, UK garage, and dance-pop concoction, but with a hypnotic synth loop that makes “DUMB” stand out from the group’s other songs. While many xikers tracks feature hard-hitting raps, this one features a more laid-back delivery focused on the group’s effortless swagger, while still reminding listeners they could go even harder if they wanted to. With the song’s recurring line being, “Bass go dumb, dumb, dumb,” it’s exactly the kind of mind-numbing fun that makes xikers the go-to party group for any K-pop scenario.
Baby DONT Cry - “Replay”
Following the release of their first mini album, [AFTER CRY], girl group Baby DONT Cry is back with a simultaneous release: Korean and Japanese versions of their newest digital single, “Replay.” While many of the group’s previous tracks have been rock-tinged pop, “Replay” is Baby DONT Cry’s first venture into R&B, with agency CEO Psy serving as executive producer, and senior Korean R&B artist Crush contributing lyrics and composition. Since starting their “Tears” trilogy with [AFTER CRY], the girl group has been exploring more of their vulnerable sides – “Replay” is no exception. Thematically, the song captures “memories and emotions that keep coming back no matter how hard you try to forget them,” showing Baby DONT Cry’s growing maturity since their 2025 debut. Despite how upbeat the song is – with its two-step garage rhythms – “Replay” reminds listeners that they can’t always bury unwanted memories and emotions forever. We have to face them before we can truly let go of them.
TWS - “Call My Name”
Boy group TWS has been pretty consistent this year, releasing digital singles, mini albums, and single albums almost back-to-back. This time, they’re back with their second single album, TO US, and its uplifting title track, “Call My Name.” Conceptually and musically, TWS’ concept has been dubbed “boyhood pop,” depicting the daily lives of boys in their youth. “Call My Name” continues this theme as a “youth anthem,” according to Chosun Biz, conveying the message that having someone who believes in you gives you courage in any situation. With an uplifting drum-and-bass rhythm paired with emotional melodies performed by jazz pianist Yun Seok-cheol – and lyrics co-written by TWS members Youngjae, Shinyu, and Dohoon – “Call My Name” is dedicated to the group’s fandom, known as 42, and expresses sincere gratitude for their continued support. Even without an emotional attachment to TWS, the sweeping melodies and vocals alike are enough to feel the unwavering affection captured from start to finish.
