BIGBANG To Release Digital Single “BiiiG” on August 19

By Isabel Miller

YG Entertainment has announced that BIGBANG will release “BiiiG” on August 19, 2026, their first single since reuniting earlier this year.

The announcement was accompanied by a teaser image, which depicts the three remaining members of BIGANG – G-DRAGON, Taeyang, Daesung – each illuminated by a strip of colourful light. The chosen blue, yellow and red colours match previous representative colours used by the members, reminiscent of their past projects, though T.O.P’s green is absent following his departure from BIGBANG in 2023.

“BiiiG” is set to be the BIGBANG’s first music release since “Still Life” in 2022, and their first as a three-member group following the announcement of their reunion in April this year. Since then, the trio has unveiled the XX: Cosmos 20th Anniversary World Tour, which at present consists of 31 stadium shows globally. Now, they are backing up the tour announcement with new music that will undoubtedly become part of the setlist.

The framing of both this world tour and new music – especially with its use of signature colours – as taking place in celebration of BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary places a focus on nostalgia. It adds to the current trend of nostalgia making its way through the industry, with other 2nd and 3rd generation artists such as I.O.I, Wanna One and BTS all returning with new projects. BIGBANG sits at the forefront, given their previous popularity and influence as one of the first acts to spread the Hallyu Wave internationally.

More information regarding the song and its tone are expected to be unveiled in teasers prior to August 19, as questions arise over whether BIGBANG will take on a new sound or return to their hip-hop and R&B roots.
