Rising boy group 82MAJOR has reached the number one spot on a real-time chart for the first time, with the title track of their latest single album.

The group’s second single album, HEAT, was released on September 1, 2026. Consisting of two new songs, “Like Fire” and “wyd?” – alongside two remixes of previous tracks – it builds on the group’s laid-back hip-hop approach with a narrative of desire.

Immediately upon its release, the single album became 82MAJOR’s most successful project yet; on the Hanteo Chart they racked up approximately 60,000 sales on release day, overtaking the previous record of 59,000 they set with the mini album FEELM earlier this year. “Like Fire” entered the Top 100 on MelOn at number 64, another personal best, and the song also gave them their first real-time number one on Bugs’s Real-Time TOP 100 Chart.

Each achievement contributes to a clear upward trajectory for the group, who have been consistently rising in popularity since their debut in 2023. Their debut mini album just surpassed the 1,000 mark for release day sales, while three years later, HEAT marks their third consecutive release to surpass 50,000 units.

The single album is also seeing international success, charting on iTunes in Spain, Germany, the UK, Australia and Canada. Each European instance may be the result of the group’s Europe tour <BEBEOM : BE THE TIGER> in March 2026, which saw them visit Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and London.

Additionally, it may be the result of support from SM Entertainment. The company became the second-biggest shareholder in Great M Entertainment in October 2025, reportedly for the purpose of aiding the growth of 82MAJOR specifically. That recognition of their potential is slowly materialising.

As new achievements continue to be reported, 82MAJOR is certainly one to watch.
