Wholesome ARMY Reddit Thread Has Everyone In the Feels

A deaf ARMY on Reddit asked if people could describe how the voices of BTS members sound, prompting one of the most wholesome discussions on the internet. The ARMY member posted, “Hello. I am a deaf baby ARMY who joined towards the end of the PTD era, and I'm wondering how their voices sound like when they sing and rap. Please, if someone could explain. I would really appreciate it. Thank you! I love the boys so much.

EDIT: I enjoy their songs by watching music videos, performances, dance practices and reading the lyrics, as well as the English translations and their meanings. But I've always been curious about their voices.”

Here’s a link to some emotional BTS songs to listen to in the background while you read this Reddit thread to get in the feels.

Here is what ARMY had to say–

“Namjoon sounds like a clay pot that was recently made, still wet, & not fired yet.

Really earthy. Like the smell after it rains. He raps and sings in a very pretty deep low voice usually. His rap sounds super authoritative, like he knows he's in charge, but his singing is really delicate and sweet, like he's singing to a little niece sitting on his lap.”

“Jin sounds like a big bubble, super clear & iridescent. Like on the old Cinderalla cartoon when she's washing the floor and the bubbles are flying everywhere and reflecting • everything. It's very smooth and clear, like plastic or hardened acrylic. Jin usually, sings pretty high & his parts tend to act like sprinkles on a cake.”

“Yoongi sounds like a roaring lion if you translate that into words. Super confident, sometimes very aggressive, like bullets flying at you. He raps and sings in a lower voice, but not as low as Joonie. His raps sound super straight, like a laser beam. Yoongi often sounds like he's at the edge of insanity, in a Heath-Ledger-as-Joker sort of way.”

“Jimin sounds like a shard of a broken mirror, sharp & clear & reflective, piercing through other sounds. Jimin is like the frosting on the cake. Very sweet & used to make things look beautiful. Jimin tends to sing pretty high, but some songs he goes into his lower register that is more delicate and less piercing, like tall grass next to a river. His voice is always very comforting, like a friend giving you a hug after a hard day.”

“Tae sounds like flowing melted milk chocolate. Smooth, thick, & full. He'd be the gooey filling between the cake layers, or a ganache poured over the top. I just keep feeling it as warm & melty, & classy. Fancy. Vintage fancy, like Leo meme from Great Gatsby. He can sing really low, but he can also crank it up to sing some crazy high parts. Follow He always sounds like he's letting you in on his secret feeling.”

“Jungkook sounds like a fresh crayon that is smooth and shiny and bright. The kind you don't want to color with because it's so beautiful the way it is. He sounds silky and shiny. Like honey, smooth, sweet, clear, even the amber color. He tends to sing higher most of the time and goes off on crazy ad libs. Jungkook is the actual cake in this vocal line dessert. The perfect density, but the perfect amount of fluff. Not too sweet, but the perfect amount of sweetness for a cake.”

“If the vocal line is the cake (put them all together for that PERFECT bite), then the rap line is the coffee. Stronger, more bitter, but sometimes with some cream and sugar. The perfect complement to a decadent slice of cake.”

How sweet is that? To top of the wholesomeness the ARMY who posted the question added a second edit to her question saying, “EDIT 2: 1 am so so grateful for every one of you. I can't find the right words to say. Thank you.”
