Who is AlphaBAT?

AlphaBAT (Korean: 알파벳) is a hip-hop group classified as a boy band in the K-pop genre. They are based in South Korea. They got their start as a duo (Kyumin & Selin) under YUB Entertainment. Kyumin left the group when the duo split with their agency, and Selin changed his stage name to I:ota. After signing on with Simtong Entertainment, he joined AlphaBAT: a nine-member group that debuted in 2013. The group switched labels again in 2016 to Jakol Corporation, based out of Japan.

Throughout their existence, the group has been plagued with lineup changes due to mandatory military service. There are currently 3 official members: B:eta, G:amma, and L:ambda. Other group members – many of whom have only left unofficially due to the military – are H:eta, C:ode, D:elta, F:ie, J:eta, E:psilon, K:appa, and founding member I:ota.
