What is Viki?

Viki is a subscription-based video-on-demand streaming service, similar to Hulu and Netflix. Its prime differentiator, however, is that it uses community-driven collaboration to subtitle its content in 200 different languages. This community operates similarly to Wiki sites, hence the name: Video + Wiki = Viki.
It was founded in America in 2007 and has its headquarters in San Mateo, California. The company was purchased for $200 million by Japanese company Rakuten in 2013. Since that time, the service has grown to 35 million active monthly users and 25 million mobile users.
Popular shows streaming on Viki include Lovely Runner, True Beauty, Descendants of the Sun, and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. Watch a trailer for a Viki show below!
