BTS' J-Hope has confirmed his first official activity after military discharge by throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the second game of the 2024 Korea Series, held in his hometown of Gwangju between the KIA Tigers and Samsung Lions. He is the first BTS member to perform this duty individually, although the group has previously been invited to throw a ceremonial pitch at a baseball game.

In June 2017, BTS participated as a group in a ceremonial first pitch at Japan's Koshien Stadium during a game between the Hanshin Tigers and the Nippon-Ham Fighters. All members donned jerseys featuring their names and numbers in support of the Hanshin Tigers. Jung Kook was selected to take the mound, and the talented singer, known for his athletic ability, confidently approached the pitcher's mound, throwing the ball to the cheers and applause of the fans for the youngest member of the group.

 

Feeling proud, Jung Kook returned to his bandmates, who praised him for his impressive baseball skills, as they were escorted out of the game.
