VANNER delivers excitement and energy with the music video for "Automatic"

Fifth generation K-pop boy group VANNER has released their third mini-album, BURN, featuring the title track "Automatic." The group consists of members Taehwan, Gon, Hyesung, Yeonggwang, and Sungkook, who is currently serving in the military and unable to participate in this album. "Automatic" is a high-energy, fierce track that embodies the quintessential K-pop aesthetics with impressive visuals, strong vocals, and rap, all enhanced by synchronized choreography and dynamic performances from the members.

The song evokes a sense of nostalgia for second-generation K-pop anthems, focusing on delivering a well-crafted and enjoyable track. The music video is well-produced, showcasing the members' dedication. However, "Automatic" doesn’t quite stand out beyond those elements. I find it doesn’t fully leverage the members' vast talent and potential, and misses out on the various directions the song could explore.

While it excels in its familiar territory and delivers that effectively, there’s still room for growth. Despite this, fans can celebrate as VANNER achieved their first-ever music show win on Music Bank with "Automatic," marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their musical journey.
