After six years of powerful performances, catchy songs, and loyal fan support, another well-loved K-pop group, EVERGLOW, has officially left their parent agency. All six members – E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren – chose not to renew their contracts, marking the end of an era for one of K-pop’s most underrated girl groups.
EVERGLOW started strong, attracting a global fanbase with their solid concepts and sharp choreography. But behind the scenes, things weren’t so smooth. In a move that stunned fans, Yiren revealed the group had never been paid since debut — a stark reminder of the exploitative realities some idols still face.
Now free agents, the members’ futures remain open. Whether they reunite under a new company or pursue separate paths, EVERGLOW’s impact is already etched into K-pop history. Known for their high-octane girl-crush concepts and production-heavy sound, the group built a small but standout catalogue packed with hidden gems.
As fans reflect on their journey, here are six EVERGLOW B-sides that prove just how much this group still had to offer.
1. "Moon" – ARRIVAL OF EVERGLOW (2019)
As the opening track of EVERGLOW’s debut single album ARRIVAL OF EVERGLOW, “Moon” fittingly signalled the group’s entrance into the K-pop scene. A pop-electronic track layered with classic K-pop aesthetics, “Moon” creates a moody, atmospheric vibe built on a synth-heavy backdrop. Co-written by rapper E:U, the song delivers a message of self-expression and inner confidence, encouraging listeners to reveal the sides of themselves they’ve kept hidden. This empowering sentiment became a defining theme, one that shaped EVERGLOW’s vision, identity, and purpose throughout their career.
2. "Hush" – HUSH (2019)
Following the breakthrough title track “Bon Bon Chocolat,” “Hush” - a B-side from the eponymous HUSH album served as the perfect opening track. A tropical house-inspired song layered over soft, enjoyable EDM beats and enriched with signature K-pop elements, “Hush” showcased EVERGLOW’s vocal abilities in a fresh light within this compact three-track single album. Many fans believe the group still has more music left in them, and songs like “Hush” only reinforce that belief. With its polished production and strong delivery, “Hush” felt like anything but a B-side, more than worthy of title track status.
3. "Untouchable" – -77.82X−78.29 (2020)
EVERGLOW plays to their strengths in this groovy dance-pop track that transports listeners straight to the vibrant disco era of the '80s. As the second song on the album following the bold title track “La Di Da,” “Untouchable” sets the tone for the rest of the record while inviting fans to explore the full spectrum of EVERGLOW’s musical palette. It’s the kind of track you can’t help but picture yourself belting out and dancing to with friends at a post-work Friday night karaoke session - fun, infectious, and effortlessly cool.
4. "No Good Reason" – -77.82X−78.29 (2020)
You need no good reason to fall for this one — pun fully intended. “No Good Reason” is an emo-pop ballad laced with house and synth elements, best described as a ‘happy-sad’ song: emotionally heavy lyrics wrapped in a bouncy, upbeat melody. It's the musical equivalent of laughing through a breakdown or smiling through your pain- bittersweet, relatable, and strikingly honest. This genre is underrated and underutilised in K-pop, but EVERGLOW pulls it off with effortless charm. And yes, you can stream “No Good Reason” on repeat... for, well, no good reason.
5. "No Lie" – Reminiscence (2020)
“No Lie” is the kind of track you want to blast in your car at full volume with the windows up. Built for volume and motion, “No Lie” blends tropical house, electro-pop, and emotional clarity into one standout B-side. Beneath its glimmering production lies a deceptively mature core: a call for emotional honesty in love. The hook, “Baby, no lie,” is dangerously addictive – don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming it all day.
6. "Please Please" – Last Melody (2021)
Closing the list is one of EVERGLOW’s most vocally tender tracks. Set against a retro-pop acoustic backdrop, “Please Please” taps into classic Korean ballad sentiment with clean, emotive harmonies and soft guitar. Following the power-packed “First,” it lands as a quiet exhale — an ode to goodbyes and lingering love that feels especially poignant now. The line “Please, please don’t say goodbye” hits harder than ever.
EVERGLOW’s exit from Yuehua marks not just the end of a chapter, but the continuation of a troubling industry pattern. Despite a global fanbase and consistent output, the group never received fair compensation. Their story is part of a broader reckoning — one where fans are increasingly vocal about artist rights, transparency, and treatment.
Among the 2019 K-pop debut class, only ITZY (under JYP) remain fully active. That statistic alone underlines the uphill battle newer groups face. But EVERGLOW’s catalogue, filled with experimental flair and emotional honesty, proves they’re still worth rooting for.
That said, there may be hope on the horizon. A recent viral post on Weibo suggests that major companies like One Hundred, AT AREA, and P NATION may already be in talks to sign the group. Whether or not all six return together, EVERGLOW’s legacy is far from over.
