SUHO: The man with a cottony soft heart

Kim Jun Myeon aka Suho made his debut as a K-pop idol in 2012 with the group EXO. He debuted as the leader of the group. Since then, he has delivered a stunning number of hits, both as a group member and as a soloist. Suho ventured into acting around 2012, but it wasn’t until after 2016 that he was seen in more prominent and eventually lead roles with K-movies like One Way Trip and K-dramas like Rich Man.

His voice has been noted as one of the softest and warmest voices of third-generation K-pop idols. He has made a mark for himself for being an idol who is loved by fans of not only his generation but also beyond. When it comes to music, Suho finds his sweet softness in the R&B and pop genres. His solo ventures as a musician reflect this softness and his intellect.

In March 2020, he released his first solo EP Self-Portrait. In May of the same year, he enlisted for mandatory military enlistment and was discharged in February 2022. Following the discharge, he released his second EP Grey Suit in April 2022. The singer then went on to collaborate with the Thai actor-singer Mew Suppasit for the single “Turn Off The Alarm.” He also went back to his acting chops with a musical named Mozart! and a K-drama named Missing Crown Prince.

Suho has been actively involved in philanthropy, working with UNICEF, and NGOs and donating to various charities. His actions echo his words. He practices what he preaches and makes sure to raise a strong voice for causes close to his heart. When it comes to music, Suho’s compositions reflect the maturity he has instilled in him. His solo work mostly consists of R&B, ballads, and some pop tracks that echo a heartfelt message on love, life and everything in between. Often dubbed by the EXO-Ls as the “nation’s leader” for being a caring leader to the EXO members and being attentive to everyone around him, Suho has earned a great amount of love and admiration from the fans.

He is currently on a world tour with his concert Su:Home following the release of his third EP 1 to 3. After wrapping up the concert series, he is slated to visit India for the second edition of the Kwave Festival in October 2024. This visit will mark his second visit to the country.
