NewJeans' Hanni and Actress Nam Ji Hyun to Co-Host Inaugural Korea Grand Music Awards

Hanni from the popular girl group NewJeans and actress Nam Ji Hyun are set to take on hosting duties for the upcoming Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA). The organizing committee announced on August 28 that the duo will serve as MCs for the first-ever KGMA, which will be held on November 16 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon.

The KGMA organizing committee expressed that Hanni and Nam Ji Hyun were chosen as hosts because they embody the spirit of the new wave of K-pop and its devoted fandom. Their selection reflects the awards' aim to highlight the evolving landscape of Korean music. The committee also hinted that the female MCs for the second day of the event, scheduled for November 17, will be revealed soon.

The first lineup of artists set to perform at this year’s KGMA has already been announced, featuring some of the biggest names in K-pop, including NewJeans, NiziU, aespa, ATEEZ, ZEROBASEONE, and Taemin. These artists represent a diverse range of genres within K-pop and have all achieved significant success over the past year.

The KGMA seeks to honor and celebrate the achievements of artists across various genres, including K-pop, trot, and band music, as well as solo acts. With its debut, the KGMA is poised to become a prominent event in recognizing the talents and contributions of Korean music artists.
