KIM WOO SEOK: A man of many talents

Fans of music reality TV shows are likely aware of the ups and downs that groups X1 and Up10tion went through. The members of these groups showed resilience and found a new path when an obstacle was thrown their way. One of these members is Kim Woo Seok. 

Kim Woo Seok, formerly known as Wooshin, debuted in 2015 with the 10-member K-pop boy group Up10tion. In 2019, he participated in Produce X 101, a music survival show and he came in second. He gained immense popularity while on the show. He went on to debut with a new K-pop boy group X1 in August 2019. 

X1 was supposed to be active for five years. But after Mnet’s vote manipulation reports were disclosed, the members’ agencies decided to not go ahead with the group. X1’s journey was short lived, as it disbanded in January 2020. Kim Woo Seok turned to his solo activities while still with TOP Media. He made his debut in May 2020 with the EP 1st Desire (Greed). He left Up10tion in February 2023 and continued his solo activities.

Kim Woo Seok made his acting debut in 2020 with the web series Twenty-Twenty. He went on to play main roles in dramas like Finland Papa, Night Has Come, and the most recent one being Social Savvy Class 101. Apart from Produce X 101, he has also been a part of several reality TV shows as well.

Over the years, he has hosted successful concerts and fan meets across South Korea and South East Asia. When his contract with TOP Media expired in March 2024, Kim Woo Seok signed with BLITZWAY, where he continued his solo singing and acting ventures. There has been no recent activity from Kim Woo Seok though. This is because he is preparing to enlist in the military from November 4, 2024. He will be enlisting as an active duty soldier in the Army Band.
