Jeon Somi to Make Acting Debut in Horror-Thriller 'Perfect Girl'
by Hasan Beyaz

As reported exclusively by Deadline, Jeon Somi, fresh off her new EP Chaotic and Confused – whose title track “CLOSER” has already racked up over 17 million views – is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming horror-thriller Perfect Girl.
The film – being described as “Scream meets Black Swan” – follows the story of a brand-new K-pop girl group preparing for debut. With only four spots available and the final cut looming, competition turns deadly when a mysterious new trainee joins the line-up. One by one, the girls begin to be hunted, leaving the survivors to question who will make the group’s final line-up – and who will make it out alive.
Joining Somi in the cast are Kpop Demon Hunters star Arden Cho and Mortal Kombat II’s Adeline Rudolph. The project is helmed by director Hong Won-ki of Zanybros – a name familiar to K-pop fans for shaping some of the industry’s most iconic music videos. Written by Lynn Q. Yu and produced by Badlands, Thunder Road (the team behind John Wick), and Cho, the film promises a blend of glossy K-pop spectacle and psychological horror.
Adding to the crossover appeal, Perfect Girl will also feature six original songs designed to blur the lines between film and pop music. It’s not yet confirmed whether Somi or Cho will appear on the soundtrack. Production begins October 27 in Asia, with international sales led by Upgrade and domestic rights handled by CAA Media Finance.
Since first breaking out on Produce 101 and debuting with I.O.I, Somi has carved a singular path as a soloist, signed under THEBLACKLABEL. With her first foray into film, she now adds acting to her multifaceted career. “She is a one-of-a-kind talent whose chemistry with Arden and Adeline is off the charts,” said producer Scott Strauss. “The three will elevate our chills, thrills, and drama and collaborate with Director Hong to ensure an authentic portrayal of Korean culture and the world of K-pop.”
