It seems like everyone is talking about K-pop these days. It has recently hit the cultural zeitgeist in the United States, and major K-pop acts have headlined American festivals like Coachella. But is its popularity growing or has it peaked?
Between 2010 and 2020, the number of K-pop concerts in North America increased by over 1,000%
Between 2016 and 2020, the number of K-pop fans worldwide rose from 35 million to 100 million.
The K-pop industry is estimated to be $5 billion.
It’s safe to say that K-pop is here to stay. The bubble will eventually burst to some degree, but there are no signs of that yet.
