Hidden BTS tracks that you must add to your playlist
作者: Anwaya Mane

Hidden tracks, also known as unlisted tracks, secret tracks, or ghost tracks, are songs not officially included in an album's tracklist. Artists may choose to release these tracks separately or keep them as surprises for fans. There are various reasons for this—perhaps the song doesn’t fit the album's overall flow, or it serves as a special gift for dedicated listeners. Psychologically, including a hidden track can help artists differentiate between casual listeners and their die-hard fans, signaling that the song is a ‘well-kept secret’ shared exclusively with their devoted followers.
BTS, like many other renowned artists, has released a few remarkable hidden tracks over the course of their decade-long career. These hidden songs have garnered a cult following among fans, just as much as their most popular hits. Let’s explore some of BTS’ best-hidden tracks that you should definitely add to your playlist.
“Sea” - Love Yourself: Her
One of the fan-favourite hidden tracks from BTS's remarkable discography, "Sea" (or "Bada" in Korean) is the eleventh track on the physical edition of their fifth EP, Love Yourself: Her. This melancholic and deeply moving song was written and produced by RM, SUGA, and J-Hope, along with their long-time collaborator Slow Rabbit. The poignant lyrics resonate profoundly, featuring lines like "I see ocean, I see desert. I see the world. Everything is the same thing. But with a different name. It's life again." As RM mentioned in his Billboard interview, "It’s kind of more special, more closer, to our true hearts."
“Skit: On The Start Line” - 2 Cool 4 Skool
Released on June 12, 2013, just a day before BTS's official debut, "Skit: On the Start Line" is a track performed solely by RM. It appears as the eighth track on Bangtan's debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, and is also included in the physical version of the album. This piece is more of a skit performance than a traditional song, showcasing a raw, unfiltered, and fearless quality. It feels as if RM has poured his heart out in this musical expression, with the unnerving lyrics declaring, "Once I debut, I will conquer the music industry." BTS truly spoke their ambitions into existence.
“Path/Road”: 2 Cool 4 Skool
Another gem from BTS's collection of hidden tracks, "Path" (also known as "Road"), was released on June 12, 2013, just a day before their debut. It holds the ninth spot on their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, and is featured in the physical version of the album. "Path" is a hip-hop track with evocative vocals and a wholesome vibe, crafted by RM, SUGA, J-Hope, along with Hitman Bang and Pdogg. Some of my favorite lines include, "I walked the lightless tunnels on my own. I thought I was alone, but I've learned that we are seven. No longer barefoot, wearing shoes called Bangtan," and "I carve Bangtan into a blank page that means the whole world as I walk toward my brighter future." I can easily imagine this song playing at BTS's reunion concert in 2025, with ARMYs going wild.
“Skit: Hesitation and Fear” - Love Yourself: Her
Another skit-performance track by BTS, “Skit: Hesitation and Fear,” is featured as the tenth track on the physical edition of their fifth mini album, Love Yourself: Her. In this track, BTS reflects on their monumental win at the Billboard Music Awards, where they became the first Korean artists to receive the Top Social Artist award.
The members discuss their career highs, the struggles they've faced, and their hopes for shaping the future. In a V-live broadcast, RM shared that the members spoke from the heart without a script, deciding on the concept together while each member contributed their thoughts and opinions. On a lighter note, the unedited version of “Skit: Hesitation and Fear” could easily pass for an episode of their hit variety show series, Run BTS!
“Letter”/ “Dear. ARMY” - FACE by Jimin
Over the years, BTS has largely moved away from including hidden tracks, making "Letter" (or "Dear. ARMY") by Jimin, featuring Jung Kook, a refreshing and delightful surprise for ARMYs from his debut mini-album, FACE. This track appears as the seventh and final hidden track on the album and serves as an acoustic love letter of gratitude to BTS's devoted fanbase, who have supported the septet throughout their decade-long journey. Jimin's beautiful and delicate vocals shine throughout the song, while Jung Kook's gracious vocal cameo adds the perfect finishing touch. Some of my favourite lines are - “After all this time has passed. Will we still be the same? Just like we were when we first met. If we are together, even the desert could turn to a sеa. Just like how we werе then”.
