Today’s Korean Indie pick is the delightfully goofy “Thursday Taco Man” by DORI. Carefree, silly, and fun, it’s playful and romantic all at once. The song opens by continuing the recent Korean indie trend of dabbling in neo-Bossa Nova. It then launches into an all-out indie pop extravaganza, blending Korean and English lyrics together into one of the most infectious choruses in recent memory.
This is a brand new release, having only been out a little more than a week. DORI is a studied and accomplished audio engineer, having honed her craft in the American music capital of Nashville. She returned to South Korea in 2020 and has been developing an active fanbase through her dreamy voice and quirky, fun personality. We’re excited for more music from DORI for sure.
