Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “RIOT” by Apnea

The Korean rock/electronic group Apnea knows how to put on a stunning display of variety. They’re masters of a carnival of electricity, leaping from dubstep to pop, hip-hop, screamo, and even dabbles in abstract fusion jazz and hyperpop. 

Listening to Apnea feels like riding a roller coaster that just keeps going. That may be some peoples’ worst nightmare, but for adrenaline junkies it’s really going to hit that sweet spot. “RIOT” carries you from one peak to the next, continually raising the stakes. The whole experience is thoroughly satisfying, and, like a great roller coaster, leaves you at the end craving a moment to catch your breath before you hop right back on for more.
