Could you be a K-pop idol? - By The Numbers

Every year, roughly 1 million young people in Korea audition to become K-pop stars. The current average age of a K-pop idol’s debut is age 17. Training normally takes between 4 and 5 years. 

 

On average, your chances any given year are at worst 1 in a million. 

 

Chances improve if you are bilingual, born between the ages of 2004 and 2011, and already possess remarkable talent.
