K-pop groups singing for a drama is a treat for the fans always because they get to listen to their favorite idols outside of the comeback releases. Over the years, several K-pop groups or solo idols have contributed to wonderful soundtracks that have remained iconic to today. (Looking at you, “Stay With Me" by Chanyeol and Punch.) But these soundtrack appearances are not limited to just Korean dramas. K-pop boy groups like EXO, BTS and several others have lent their voices to soundtracks for Japanese dramas as well. The latest K-pop boy group to join the ranks of Japanese drama soundtrack gurus is SEVENTEEN.

SEVENTEEN is slated to make an appearance in the soundtrack of the upcoming Japanese drama Mirai no Watashi ni Bukkama Sareru!!?. This Japanese drama will be produced by NHK, one of Japan’s most popular broadcast stations. Actor Keito Tsuna plays the lead role as Raito Igarashi, a city hall employee who meets a mysterious man claiming to be Raito but from 30 years in the future. Shiori Kubo will star as Raito’s romantic interest in the drama.

The Japanese drama Mirai no Watashi ni Bukkama Sareru!!? Translates to “My Future Self When Will You Show Up??!” in English. This comedy drama is set to premiere on October 7, 2024. Fans can expect SEVENTEEN’s OST to follow soon after. This drama will have 32 short episodes of 15 minutes each.

The details of SEVENTEEN’s song for this drama have not been revealed yet. Only an announcement was made on SEVENTEEN’s official X handle for its Japanese activities.

This is not the first time that SEVENTEEN will be singing a song for a drama. In the past, the group has worked towards contributing stellar OSTs for dramas like Hospital Playlist, Twenty-Five, Twenty-One, Tempted, A-Teen, Tale of Nokdu, to name a few.
