Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Talk tomorrow” by Leellamarz and meenoi

Leellamarz rose to prominence on Show Me the Money 5. The South Korean rapper’s talents as a vocalist are every bit as impressive as his lyrical flow, slipping soulfully in and out of strong falsettos. 

 

South Korean singer meenoi’s vocals are airy, dreamy, and hypnotic. She’s an asset to any R&B tune, and has built a career on the back of R&B hits, ballads, and jazz-infused pop. She was a perfect fit for “Talk tomorrow” – a collaboration that seamlessly blends the skills of both artists.

 

 

This track is melodic, with a great instrumental that’s built on the back of a rhythmic piano with nice jazzy harmony. It’s modern but with nods to the past. In an era of post-genre where even bygone eras can be drawn upon, it’s a great composition.
