Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “MOOD FOR LOVE” by THE SOLUTIONS

This groovy track has vocals that are reminiscent of acclaimed Icelandic singer and Sigur Ros frontman Jónsi. Now imagine if Jónsi started a new project with driving midtempo grooves, modern pop sounds, and synths that take huge cues from 80s music in the US/UK and you’ve got “MOOD FOR LOVE.” 

 

It’s a great introduction to a criminally underrated band. With only 10k monthly listeners, most wouldn’t assume that this solid pop rock quartet have done a European tour, dates in the United States, and have even played Spain’s Primavera Sound Festival – but they have. They’re certainly good enough to do so. Just hear for yourself.
