Daily Non-K-pop Spotlight: “Lack of love” by verycoybunny
Автор: verycoybunny

“Lack of love” by verycoybunny is one of those tracks that’s reminiscent of an era without being a copy of it. It’s not even a true homage to the 80s. Rather, it pulls guitar tones and drum rhythms and makes them similar enough to remind you of the 80s without being period authentic. The drums are punchy and straightforward, but they’re also way too roomy. The guitars sparkle, but they have too much in common with modern indie.

The result is a dreamy, carefree pop romp through modern Korean indie. This song from the criminally underrated verycoybunny is a huge step forward for music. It’s a sonic innovation on an old formula, and it works really, really well. Catchy, clean, and cute with a guitar solo that goes way harder than it needs to, there are plenty of fun surprises here.
