Rapper Rhymer’s label Brand New Music has been instrumental in giving a platform to rookies and singers of various niches. In 2019, Brand New Music announced the debut of a K-pop trio named BDC. BDC stands for “Boys Da Capo.” The group consisted of members Kim Si-hun, Hong Seong-jun, and Yun Jung-hwan. The trio released a single album Boys Da Capo in 2019 as a part of their pre-debut showcase.

Before their debut in 2020, the trio represented its label at Mnet’s survival show Produce 101. Lee Eun Sang had also joined them then, but he left the group to join X1. The trio also participated in their own reality show which showed their pre-debut preparations. In September 2020, BDC debuted with its first EP The Intersection: Belief. A month after its debut, BDC announced its fandom name ‘FINE.’ The fandom name is read Phi-Nay.
Over the next two years, BDC continued its activities in the K-pop industry. In October 2021, BDC made its Japanese debut with the single “Moon Walker.” In 2023, the group participated in a reality show named Peak Time. They did not have music-related activities to a large extent in that year.
Speaking of BDC’s music, the members’ voices complement each other perfectly. In their short run, BDC showcased a great variation in trying different genres for each comeback. From hip hop to RnB to ballads, the trio displayed a stellar show of performances each time.
On August 26, 2023, BDC released its final track “Rest” and concluded its activities with Brand New Music. Since then, BDC members have pursued solo career paths. In August 2024, Si Hun released his first single album Uncool with Cielogroove. He participated in songwriting for the same. In the same month, Seong Jun enlisted in the military. Jung Hwan, who now goes by Luven, participated in songwriting for groups like ORBIT. He, too, prepared his first solo album Cancellation and released it August 2024.
