2PM: The Beast Idols

2PM, a boy band formed by JYP Entertainment, initially burst onto the scene as a seven-member group. After member Jaebeom left in 2009, the remaining members—Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung—continued to rise in popularity, carving out a niche with their "beast-like" image. This rugged and charismatic aesthetic set them apart from the "pretty boy" trend that dominated the K-pop landscape.

The group originally hailed from an eleven-member act called One Day, brought together through the reality TV show Hot Blood Men. This ensemble was eventually split into 2PM and 2AM. 2PM made their electrifying debut with "10 Out of 10," showcasing acrobatic dance routines that became a hallmark of their performances. Their early success was further cemented with the chart-topping single "Again & Again" from their album 01:59PM.
2PM faced a major hurdle when leader Jaebeom departed amidst controversy over past comments made on his Myspace page. Despite this setback, the group powered through, releasing hit albums like Hands Up and making a significant impact in Japan with Republic of 2PM. Known for their dynamic stage presence and high-energy performances, they captivated audiences worldwide, especially through their extensive concert tours.

After a hiatus due to mandatory military service, 2PM made a triumphant return in 2021 with their seventh studio album, Must. This comeback underscored their enduring appeal and commitment to their music. Throughout their journey, 2PM has maintained a loyal fan base and left an indelible mark on the K-pop industry, blending masculinity with performance artistry in a way that's uniquely theirs.
