EMP, the hip-hop sub-unit made up of ZEROBASEONE’s PARK GUNWOOK and SEOK MATTHEW, is set to return with a new single on November 10, 2026.

The announcement of their first comeback came several days ago. A poster was shared on social media unveiling a new song titled “RUN (with Dynamicduo)”, “RUN” repeating in chromatically distorted letters across the image. One of the repeats faded into the EMP name, and another into “with Dynamicduo.” The collaboration is scheduled for release on November 4 in the form of a digital single.

On October 25, however, the announcement of that first single was expanded upon. A similarly distorted image of red and purple hues reveals EMP’s digital single OFF script, scheduled for release on November 10. In the caption, “RUN (with Dynamicduo)” is reframed as a pre-release with the option to pre-save the song now available.

OFF script, led by “RUN,” will be EMP’s first comeback. The sub-unit debuted in September with the release of EMP Mixtape Vol.1: We the Extra. Consisting of four songs — “EMP,” “Woofer,” “In your rain,” and “Pina C” — the mixtape turns to the hip-hop genre to present a new side to GUNWOOK and MATTHEW outside of the hyper-pop and R&B approaches used by ZEROBASEONE in the past.

The mixtape’s title indicated that the release would not be EMP’s last; the inclusion of ‘Vol. 1’ signals future volumes. Even so, the announcement of OFF script has come as a surprise to fans, who did not expect a comeback only two months on from that initial debut. That timeframe is short, even for a follow-up single.

For EMP to return so swiftly is already an indicator of their popularity, but the Dynamicduo feature is also worth emphasising. Dynamicduo is a notorious South Korean hip-hip duo formed in 2003 who have had numerous hits over the years and remain a recognised name. Acquiring a feature from such a well-known artist for their second ever release reflects the star-power of EMP and that the unit intends to fully lean into the genre.

As was the case with EMP Mixtape Vol.1: We the Extra, GUNWOOK and MATTHEW will reportedly co-author and produce each of the tracks on OFF script. That, in part, has been presented as the purpose of the sub-unit — giving a popular duo the opportunity to explore the genre that they are both interested in and to develop their own skills and creativity in the process. Tracks are likely to carry the same charismatic, carefree tone as a result, reinforcing EMP’s musical identity.

Playing on its name, EMP performed “RUN (with Dynamicduo)” early on October 24 at the celebratory concert connected to the 2026 Seoul Runners Festival. Official clips of the performance work to raise anticipation, and unveil the track’s confident, high-impact nature.
