Rising genderless group XLOV has begun their next chapter with a new logo and the announcement of the release of their third mini album, scheduled for October 28, 2026.

On September 28, the group unveiled a new logo and dark red colour theme. Drawn at the centre in shaded calligraphy is the character ‘愛,’ meaning “love.” Found in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese – the three primary languages of XLOV’s members – the character varies slightly in meaning. In Japanese, it represents a poetic, tender feeling, while in Chinese the meaning is more down-to-earth. Crossed out, as it is in this new logo, however, it reads as a sense of personal rebellion, and in Korean it can refer to “sorrow” in certain contexts. Overall, its use signifies a depth to XLOV’s narrative within this new chapter, consisting of various sides to love.

This logo builds on the group’s concept and on their previous releases. The name XLOV signifies a love that is incomplete and undefined, “LOV” reading as incomplete. UXLXVE, the quartet’s first mini album, rejected love in its play on “UNLOVE” and the similar crossing out of certain letters. The release was also backed by a different logo, which depicts spikes and thorns on the edges of a heart.

Each logo was drawn by XLOV’s leader Wumuti, adding a personal touch to each of the group’s projects. Hand-drawn sketches of the new logo and previous editions have been shared on Wumuti’s personal social media accounts, and their inspiration discussed at events. In an industry that often designates much of the creative aspects to design teams, Wumuti’s consistent involvement is a refreshing marker of the authentic intention carried by XLOV.

Following the reveal came the announcement of the mini album accompanying it, titled i=!. The title continues the pattern of unconventional, symbolic album titles from the group, and suggests that XLOV will similarly continue to promote new concept images and music in line with their unconventional genderless style.

XLOV have been steadily growing in popularity since their debut in 2025. Their most recent album, I,God, saw 245,522 first month sales according to Circle, which is almost double the first month sales of UXLXVE six months prior. Now, in the midst of the 2026 XLOV ASIA TOUR <Serving-X> and ahead of their first U.S. tour scheduled for December, i=! will receive the additional support of new fans gained during touring stints.
