Xdinary Heroes’ may have gone too far in ‘Troubleshooting’ concept photos

Xdinary Heroes is a Korean boy band created under JYP Entertainment’s Studio J. The group debuted on December 6, 2021 and stands out as a true rock group who is run and managed like a K-pop group. All members participate in the writing, performance, and production of their music, yet they also do promotional photoshoots and other events like your standard K-pop group. We’re not one to discriminate when it’s good music though.
Earlier this month, Xdinary Heroes released their latest song, “Open ♭eta v6.4,” which got us thinking about their other release cycles, especially that of their first full album earlier this year. The group has always leaned hardcore into hardcore and punk aesthetics, even from their first single, “Happy Death Day.” The concept photos for Troubleshooting carry that same edgy style, but lean into it even harder than before. The members are surrounded by bricks, graffiti, and all the photos are drenched in this filter that turns everything brown and gray. Honestly, it might be taking the bit a little too far, as some of these photos come off more as a parody of bad boys than true bad boys themselves. Like the sets have all the classic ‘dangerous’ symbols, but it comes off as a bit manufactured and clearly is just from a stage somewhere. Fake bad boys or not, at least they make good music.
