WJSN’s Seola and Eunseo have officially terminated their contracts with Starship Entertainment following the group’s 10 year anniversary this year.

The company shared the announcement on September 17, 2026 alongside farewell messages for Seola and Eunseo. “We sincerely wish for their every step ahead to be filled with happiness and wonderful things,” both state, reflecting on memories and gratitude.

Seola and Eunseo debuted as part of WJSN in 2016. For the ten years since, they have remained with the company for group and solo activities; both were among the eight out of ten members who renewed their contracts in March 2023. During that ten year period, WJSN released one studio album, nine mini-albums, and numerous digital singles. The most recent celebrates that anniversary – the special single Bloom hour, containing two tracks, was released in February 2026.

As an individual, Seola released the single album Inside Out in 2024 and its energetic, rock-infused title track “Without U.” She was the first of WJSN to debut as a solo artist, and also contributed to several of the songs in writing and composition. However, since then, she has not released any further solo projects aside from one OST.

Eunseo, on the other hand, moved away from music and has been pursuing acting. She starred as the female lead in fantasy romance drama Jinx in 2021, and has since participated in horror projects such as Idiot Girls and School Ghost (2024) and The Cursed (2025).

The departure of Seola and Eunseo from Starship Entertainment marks a new chapter for their careers, presenting the possibility of new and more frequent ventures. Seola in particular has hinted at intentions for a “new start” via a handwritten letter shared on social media, though at the moment no contracts have been confirmed. At present, the girls also remain part of WJSN, having not announced departures from the group itself - but prior to the release of Bloom hour this year, the group had not been active as a collective since 2022.

WJSN becomes the next group to appear in a recurring pattern this year. Many idols reaching 10 years of activities have chosen to depart from their companies, such as Mark of NCT and Jeongyeon of TWICE. We are witnessing a shift in K-pop’s third generation which will see many recognised, veteran artists carving out new eras. As some remain in their groups and others mark complete separations, there is an air of uncertainty, meaning that Seola and Eunseo’s continued presence in WJSN should be reassuring for fans despite a four year hiatus.

Several of the other WJSN members are pursuing individual activities and remain under Starship Entertainment. DAYOUNG debuted as a solo artist under the company in 2025 and released a second digital single, “What’s a girl to do,” in April 2026. Others are active as actresses in TV, film and musical theatre. The involvement of Luda and Dawon in Bloom hour suggests that the divide will not necessarily prevent future group activities in collaboration with Starship.

Seola and Eunseo’s departures are likely to offer them new opportunities within their fields, so fans can expect more content coming their way soon.
