SM Entertainment (Korean: SM엔터테인먼트) – officially SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. – is a South Korean entertainment agency that operates at global scale. Lee Soo-man founded SM Entertainment in 1995 and has gone on to launch the careers of notable artists like BoA, SUPER JUNIOR, Girls’ Generation, Red Velvet, and more. SM Entertainment is one of South Korea’s largest entertainment companies, focusing specifically on music production, music publishing, talent development and management, and live events. SM Entertainment was at the forefront of “Hallyu,” or the “Korean Wave.”
