Universal Music Korea Signs HEYOON, Former Now United Star, to Launch Solo Career

Universal Music Korea (UMK), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), has officially announced the signing of HEYOON, a Korean-born international pop star based in Los Angeles and Korea. This partnership marks a major step in UMK’s strategic mission to nurture and elevate local Korean artists on the global stage, particularly in genres like R&B, pop, and hip-hop.

HEYOON, best known for her five-year tenure in the international pop group Now United, has performed on soldl-out tours across more than 30 countries and released over 100 singles and music videos, amassing a significant international fanbase. Now, as a solo artist with UMK, she aims to build upon her global success while showcasing her individual artistry and unique perspective.

The signing aligns with UMK’s broader strategy to spotlight Korean talent and expand the international influence of its artists. UMK is set to increase investments in talent scouting, artist development, and the use of its vast global network in A&R, marketing, and public relations, allowing HEYOON and others to maximize their reach both domestically and internationally. HEYOON now joins a distinguished roster at UMK, which includes renowned alternative R&B artist DEAN.
