TWS Unleash Intensity on New Mini Album play hard

TWS have dropped their fourth mini album play hard, a six-track project that bottles the rush of youth into sharp hooks and restless energy.

The South Korean six-piece – SHINYU, DOHOON, YOUNGJAE, HANJIN, JIHOON, and KYUNGMIN – are the latest boy group from PLEDIS Entertainment, home to SEVENTEEN, and with this record they continue carving out their own lane through a mix of raw intensity and heartfelt reflection.

The release kicks off with the pre-release single “Head Shoulders Knees Toes,” a chant-heavy anthem that doubles as a rallying cry. What could have felt throwaway is turned into something bigger, a mantra about breaking limits that sets the tone for the album’s push-and-pull between chaos and catharsis. Lead single “OVERDRIVE” takes that momentum and spins it into a more theatrical shape, its soaring hook capturing the headrush of youthful obsession.

Elsewhere, the group stretch into new textures. “HOT BLUE SHOES” and “Caffeine Rush” pull from hip-hop and Jersey club influences, adding grit and unpredictability to the record’s glossy pop framework. They’re looser and more experimental than TWS’ earlier singles, hinting at a group unafraid to test their boundaries.

The final stretch softens the mood. “overthinking” drops into a hushed, introspective space, while “Here For You” closes with a direct message to their fans, 42s, grounding the album’s high-energy moments with gratitude and connection. The juxtaposition of restless adrenaline and vulnerable sincerity is what gives play hard its edge, showing a group still young but intent on growth.

With four mini albums under their belt in under a year, TWS are moving fast. play hard isn’t just another chapter in that sprint – it’s a statement of intent, a record that channels both the chaos and clarity of coming of age.
