TRI.BE: Aim to Exist in Perfection
By Nandini Iyengar

South Korean label TR Entertainment and Universal Music Group came together to debut a new K-pop girl group in 2021: TRI.BE. This K-pop girl group currently comprises six members Songsun, Kelly, Hyunbin, Jia, Soeun, and Mire. There was also a seventh member Jinha, but she left the group due to health concerns.
The name ‘TRI.BE’ is a combination of two abbreviated words. ‘TRI’ comes from ‘triangle,’ which symbolizes perfection, and ‘BE’ which means to exist, but they extend the meaning to a ‘perfect existence.’ TRI.BE debuted in February 2021 with the single album TRI.BE Da Loca. The group’s fans are called TRUE.
Since its debut in 2021, the group has been consistently releasing new music. In 2022, the group also collaborated with Indian artists Allu Arjun, Armaan Malik, and Lost Stories for the song “Memu Aagamu,” which was featured on Coke Studio. Since 2022, member Jinha has been on a hiatus. A year later, the label announced that she had officially left the group because of her previously mentioned health concerns.
Speaking to the group’s musical capabilities, TRI.BE’s music has always been upbeat and uplifting. Their music caters to a young audience with catchy tunes and inspiring lyrics. All members present a great vocal harmony, seamlessly transitioning from vocal to rap verses. There is a sprinkle of bubble gum pop in their tracks which reflects the cheerful idea of the group.
In 2023, TRI.BE released a single “Wonderland,” where they sang entirely in English. Following its fourth single album Diamond, the group went on a Europe concert tour. The tour wrapped up in June. TRI.BE has not been active since the tour ended, though considering the group’s previous timeline for comebacks, we can expect new music in November. We’ll excitedly wait til we hear any official news!
