Track-By-Track: Wildberry Takes Us Through 'Ctrl+'
by Hasan Beyaz

Rising K-Indie act Wildberry guides us through her second album Ctrl+ – a stand-out record from the depths of Korea’s vibrant music scene that moves between memory, freedom and introspection. From the childhood warmth of “HOME” and the effortlessly chill “Like I Do”, to the confrontation of heartbreak in “Best Friend” and the meditative closer “POEM,” Ctrl+ is a chapter that feels intimate, textured and unapologetically Wildberry’s – read on for the acclaimed artist’s track-by-track breakdown.
1. "HOME"
Wildberry: This song is full of my childhood memories. My dad built our little house with my grandpa, and I ran around there with my siblings, feeling so loved. That pure, warm feeling still grounds me, and I wanted the song to carry that exactly.
2. "Like I Do"
Wildberry: It’s about doing your thing and just letting it flow. Like flipping a switch, suddenly everything clicks, and you’re in this cool drill-R&B vibe that’s both chill and freeing.
3. "We don’t have to think of"
Wildberry: This one’s like a home-party chat with your friends. I imagined giving cute, cheeky advice about crushes, like: “that guy doesn’t see you as a friend, watch out!” It’s playful, light, and fun.
4. "Get Down"
Wildberry: It’s basically saying, I just want to be with you right now. My favorite line is “Everything is gold, tell ‘em how you want”; it hits like a little bold, glowing confession.
5. "Put your paws up"
Wildberry: The opening synth sound is inspired by my dog GuSeul barking and it immediately made the song feel so cute and pure. Every time I hear it, I just melt a little.
6. "Code Blue" (Interlude)
Wildberry: If you like lofi, you’ll love this song. This is the song you call when everything’s chaotic. Short, urgent, but steady like a heartbeat you can count on.
7. "Best Friend"
Wildberry: Getting hurt by someone you trusted? That’s brutal. I’ve gone through all that unwanted growing pain, and the song’s honesty carries this quiet, magnetic energy. Singing it is intense, but that’s what makes it addictive.
8. "Step On Me" (feat. Yoh)
Wildberry: I wrote this by remembering my time living in New York, thinking back on the streets and the people I saw. Gunshots outside, glimpses of lives I didn’t fully understand... I tried to capture that raw, restless energy in the song.
9. "222"
Wildberry: This song is me breaking free from old fears and bad memories. “222” is all about balance, angel numbers, and moving forward without hesitation. I wanted it to feel like a breath of freedom.
10. "POEM"
Wildberry: I’ve always wanted to publish a poetry book, and this track feels like it could be in it. Listening to it is heavy but calm, like a quiet meditation.
