SUDI’s new single is criminally underrated

The caliber of music coming out of South Korea on a consistent basis is actually insane. We’ve discussed this at length before, but it’s difficult to comprehend how a single like SUDI’s "Like The Rain" can be released to little-to-no fanfare and still sound as incredible as it does. It’s truly world class.
Featuring Sonny Zero on vocals, the song is a falsetto-heavy, lofi-textured R&B song. With English lyrics, we’re of the opinion that this song – if discovered by the right group of listeners – could have massive crossover appeal.

The song opens with sexy nylon-string guitars before dropping into a beat primarily driven by thick, punchy kicks. SUDI, a female South Korean producer, has everything dialed in nicely across the arrangement, and restonmemory’s mix is immaculate. Everything from the catchy melodies to the expertly crafted soft harmonies scream indie classic.
The weirdest thing, though, is that it’s not an indie release. This recording was released by Stone Entertainment, which has ties to WAKEONE and CJ ENM – both of whom have the means to blast this song to the masses but don’t appear to be throwing their weight behind it.

It’s unclear what the future holds for this song, but we’re huge fans of SUDI’s work and really enjoyed Sonny Zero’s vocal performance. More people need to hear it. Check it out below.
