Dino, the youngest member of 3rd generation powerhouse SEVENTEEN, is set to release his first solo album Gilboard on August 3, 2026, under the name of his alter-ego, Picheolin.

Following several solo variety show appearances, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed DINO’s solo project on July 14 with a teaser, a promotion scheduler, and hints at the album’s intended narrative.

““吉BOARD(Gilboard)” takes inspiration from the spirit of “gilboard,” an icon of Korea's street culture in the 1990s, now reintroduced through Picheolin's unique perspective,” the official Weverse announcement states. “Always eager to strike up conversations and collect the stories of everyday people, Picheolin transforms those moments into music. The album features a wide range of genres infused with the spirit of Korean hype (heung), showcasing Picheolin as the “multi-talented producer of the streets.””

The initial teaser – announcing the first of two pre-release singles, “Lovesick” –  sets the tone, featuring veteran ballad singer Lee Moonsae as a narrator and depicting DINO portraying Picheolin as he dances beneath streetlights through a city at night. “Lovesick” and the full music video will be released on July 15, 2026, and a second pre-release single titled “Crazy Crazy” will be released on July 22.

The album scheduler has also revealed the “DINO X PICHEOLIN FAN CONCERT”, to be held August 21-23, and a hint of “more to come.” Given the pattern of recent unit releases from SEVENTEEN, this hint may refer to further shows as part of a short tour; HxW, CxM and V8 all performed across various areas of Korea, China and/or Japan.

What is unique about DINO’s release is firstly its solo nature, but also its positioning of DINO as his alter-ego. Picheolin is a comedic character that first originated as part of SEVENTEEN’s variety show content, GOING SEVENTEEN. Now, the character has an expanded narrative: “Created with the ambition of seamlessly weaving into people's everyday lives, Picheolin hopes to “feature” in ordinary moments and fill them with joyful rhythm and energy.” It plays on the authenticity that SEVENTEEN is known for, from variety show comedy to meaningful narratives and lyrics, rather than playing into a wider trend.

“Gilboard” will be released on August 3, 2026, and become the next in a series of projects released by SEVENTEEN as its members gradually enlist to fulfil their mandatory military services requirement.
