On September 2, SBS announced the return of their busking program The Listen and revealed the line-up for its sixth season.
The Listen sees prominent Korean singers travelling together and holding live outdoor busking performances in local communities. There are a variety of solo and collaborative performances, and along the way each artist shares personal and musical stories. Previous seasons have featured artists such as Bang Yedam of Treasure, Ken of VIXX, Seunghee of Oh My Girl and popular soloist and talk show host Lee Mujin.
Season six, airing this autumn, is named The Listen: The Season We Stayed. The line-up is the show’s biggest so far, consisting of 14 singers: Lee Younghyun, Tei, DK, Lee Seunggi, EXO’s Suho, Lee Yejoon, Yuju, Chuu, ATEEZ’s Jongho, Shin Yeyoung, Kim Heejae, Park Jihyun, Song Minjun and Lee Yeji. DK, Lee Yeojoon and Kim Heejae appeared in season five and are returning cast members, while the remaining eleven will appear for the first time.
With a variety of soloists and group members, a mixture between ballad, trot and K-pop singers, and participants from several generations, the show is set to see its widest range of performances yet. Particular K-pop standouts are Suho of EXO, Jongho of ATEEZ, and soloist and former member of LOONA Chuu, who are known as vocal powerhouses; fans online have expressed their anticipation for potential collaborations between them.
The Listen: The Season We Stayed will air in October. Each solo and group song performed on the show will be officially released as a digital single alongside the live broadcasts.
