Rosé: Global Icon

Rosé, born Roseanne Park in New Zealand and raised in Australia, has risen to international fame as both a member of BLACKPINK and a solo artist. Her journey began in 2012 when she auditioned for YG Entertainment and was signed as a trainee. After four years of training, she debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016. The group quickly rose to global prominence, thanks to hits like "Whistle" and "Boombayah." Despite the massive success of BLACKPINK, Rosé carved out a distinct path for herself, driven by her unique voice and passion for music.

In March 2021, Rosé made her solo debut with R, a single album that shattered records. Its lead single, "On the Ground," became the highest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on multiple international charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The song also made her the first artist to top the Billboard Global 200 both as a soloist and part of a group. This success was bolstered by the immense popularity of her music video, which broke YouTube records. Her second single, "Gone," also performed well, solidifying her as a powerhouse in the K-pop solo scene.
In addition to her musical achievements, Rosé has made a significant impact in the fashion world. In 2021, she became the first female Korean idol to attend the Met Gala as a global ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent, marking a milestone in her fashion career. Rosé's sense of style and global appeal have led to partnerships with prestigious brands like Tiffany & Co. and Puma. She has consistently been recognized as a fashion icon, with Vogue praising her for standing out even among her stylish BLACKPINK peers.

Rosé’s voice, often described as having a distinct timbre, has earned widespread acclaim. She’s known for her emotional delivery, which has set her apart in the K-pop industry. Influenced by artists like Big Bang’s Taeyang and Tori Kelly, Rosé's musical style blends pop with a soulful, introspective edge. She’s also contributed to songwriting, as seen in BLACKPINK's Born Pink, where she had a hand in writing "Yeah Yeah Yeah."
Beyond her career, Rosé has actively used her platform for advocacy. During the 2019–20 Australian bushfires, she raised awareness and encouraged donations. More recently, she’s been an outspoken advocate for mental health, using her experiences to promote emotional well-being. Her influence, both as an artist and activist, extends far beyond K-pop, making her a true global icon.
