RIIZE To Release Emotional Pop Single “Insomnia” in October

by Isabel Miller

SM Entertainment have revealed that RIIZE is set to release a new single on October 26, titled “Insomnia.”

A short logo and a schedule in the form of a visualiser have been shared on social media, both positioned underwater. Each contains a different part of the same instrumental, which introduces a calm, acoustic sound. Combined with the shifting waves and “Insomnia” title, RIIZE has set a slow, comforting tone for this release.

Since their debut in 2023, RIIZE have become known for their funky dance-pop, hip-hop and electronic title tracks. From their debut title track “Get A Guitar” to more recent releases like “Impossible,” “Boom Boom Bass” and “Do your dance,” the group have solidified a consistent musical identity.

“Insomnia” will be the group’s first venture into an acoustic pop sound, turning from dance-pop to leave a deeper impression with mellow vocals. Intended as a comforting reminder to fans, its lyrics aim to support the listener through a sleepless night.

RIIZE’s second mini album, II, became the group’s fourth million-seller upon its release in June. It also marked the highest first-day sales figure for the six-piece so far in their career, with over 916,000 copies sold. That consistency, aided by specific areas of growth, reflects their popularity. Returning only four months later with a new single, RIIZE will hope to carry that momentum forward.

The more introspective sound of “Insomnia” offers RIIZE an opportunity to explore a different side of their artistry, shifting the focus from their signature sound to the connection they have built with their fans. At this stage in their career, their established audience gives them a strong foundation from which to experiment with new styles while retaining the qualities that define the group. Released both as a gift to fans and as an official single, “Insomnia” also opens the door to new creative possibilities for RIIZE, with its reception potentially paving the way for further musical exploration.

“Insomnia” will be available on streaming services as a digital single next week on October 26.
