Pentagon - Aces of Kpop

Pentagon, also known as PTG, is a South Korean boy band formed by Cube Entertainment in 2016. Initially comprising ten members, the group was introduced through the Mnet survival show "Pentagon Maker," where they showcased their talents across vocal/rap, dance, teamwork, talent, and mindset categories. Following their debut EP "Pentagon" on October 10, 2016, the group officially debuted with nine members: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok. E'Dawn departed from the group and the label in 2018, reducing their lineup to nine members.
The group's name, Pentagon, signifies their aim to embody the five essential elements of an idol: vocal/rap skills, dance abilities, teamwork, individual talent, and a positive mindset. Before their debut, members like Hui, Jinho, and Kino had diverse experiences in entertainment, participating in various talent shows and projects. Their official debut EP "Pentagon" included the hit single "Gorilla," earning them early recognition and a solid position in the Korean and Japanese music scenes.
Pentagon's journey continued with subsequent releases and achievements, including multiple EPs like "Five Senses," "Ceremony," and "Genie," which expanded their fanbase both domestically and internationally. They also ventured into the Japanese market with successful singles and albums. The group gained further prominence through their participation in the reality TV competition "Road to Kingdom" in 2020, where they showcased their versatility and creativity. Despite lineup changes and challenges, Pentagon's music and performances consistently resonate with their global fanbase, known as Universe.
