Rising boy group P1Harmony have kicked off a new creative chapter with the release of their eighth mini album DUH!, marking a deliberate and confident shift in sound. Dropped on May 8 via FNC Entertainment, the six-track project follows the group’s landmark year of international expansion, and lands as their most sonically audacious work to date.

The release arrives on the heels of their 2024 efforts, SAD SONG (their highest-selling release to date) and 때깔 (Killin’ It), their first full-length album which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart. That commercial breakthrough cemented P1Harmony as a rising force in the global K-pop ecosystem, carving out a lane shaped more by musical unpredictability than trend adherence.

DUH! builds on that momentum, but doesn’t simply repeat the formula. Instead, it veers in a deliberately louder, grittier direction. The title track “DUH!” is built on brash brass samples, layered rap cadences, and punchy, percussive choruses; it’s a declaration of creative latitude, one that reflects the group’s increasing involvement in the music-making process.

The comeback also coincides with a recent slate of international promotional activity, including their global tour P1ustage H: UTOP1A, with performances across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. Meanwhile, their new YouTube series, Eat, Sleep, Play!, showcases the members’ offstage personalities and gives an insight into their lives as musicians.

What sets this comeback apart, though, is how assertively P1Harmony are shaping their identity on their own terms. With roots in hip-hop, funk, and digital-era genre fluidity, the release reflects not only where P1Harmony have been, but where they’re aiming next – and their timing is sharp. As Western media continues to speculate on whether K-pop’s expansion is plateauing, acts like P1Harmony are proving that global relevance isn’t a matter of chasing metrics, but about building a sustainable creative identity. With DUH!, the group step further into that vision: self-assured, sonically unruly, and increasingly unafraid to disrupt expectations.
