WM Entertainment has announced that the comeback of girl group OH MY GIRL, initially scheduled for early 2026, has been delayed to 2027.
A statement issued by the company on 22 June stated that “the process of collecting and selecting high-quality music for the new album has taken longer than expected” and thus it has been determined that “it is no longer feasible to proceed with the schedule as originally planned.” Instead, “both the artists and the company are dedicating their utmost efforts to the preparations, with the goal of releasing the album in the first half of next year.”
Originally, OH MY GIRL’s comeback had been teased in early 2026. It was set to be their first album release since 2024, following two singles in 2025 – “Oh My,” released in April to celebrate the group’s 10th anniversary, and “Weather Diary” in July. The company has acknowledged that it will “mark the group's first comeback in quite some time,” suggesting awareness of fans’ heightened anticipation. They apologised for “not providing sufficient updates regarding the group activities and performances for the first half of this year,” having left those same fans in suspense.
Between the group’s last mini album, Dreamy Resonance, and this announcement, the positioning of OH MY GIRL as a collective has changed. While Seunghee, Hyojung, Mimi, and Yubin renewed their contracts with WM Entertainment, YooA signed an exclusive contract with SARAM Entertainment in June 2025 to pursue acting, and Arin signed an exclusive contract with ATRP. Both members agreed to continue to promote with the group, but their exclusive contracts indicate intentions to pursue solo activities at the same time.
Today’s statement supports these intentions, claiming that “solo album activities by the members are scheduled for the second half of this year.” However, while this allows fans definitive projects to look forward to, it may also suggest prioritisation of solo activities over those of the group. While the company remains certain that “all members share the exact same desire to continue journeying forward together under the name 'OH MY GIRL,’” solo albums arriving first – despite the group comeback having been in preparation longer – speaks for itself.
Moving forward, WM Entertainment “promise to fulfill our responsibilities and work to rebuild your trust through more responsible and timely communication.” Further confirmation of these solo projects and more information surrounding a full group comeback throughout the second half the year will confirm whether this promise is maintained. Regardless, at this stage fans can look forward to a comeback, with confirmation that the group do not intend to disband.
